ATELIERS

Through examples, students learn to question social networks, their advantages and their drawbacks.

Concepts covered:

Social networks – Internet – Communities – Fake news – Sharing – Critical thinking – Types of information – Algorithm – Information source – Artificial intelligence – Echo chamber

Objective:

To raise awareness of the dangers of social networks and the importance of critical thinking. To give students practical tips for managing their use of social media and to develop the habit of thinking and verifying before sharing information.

Required materials:

The ability to project a PowerPoint-style presentation to the class.

Target audience:

For all elementary school levels (from Grade 3 onward) and secondary school. The workshop is adapted according to the students’ level.
